A Heart2Heart letter

Plug In!

The Lord gives strength to the weary

Bills need to be paid. Clothes need to be washed. Meals need to be made, and children need to be helped. And you have the responsibility of doing it all.

During these seasons, we can become overwhelmed, overworked, and frustrated. There is so much to carry, and sometimes you may wonder how you’re going to keep going. It is often during these moments that the enemy loves to whisper in your ear, causing you to fear, feel anxious, and doubt God. You may find yourself asking, “How could I possibly go another day feeling this worried? How will I make it through these troubling times?”

Mom, I know what those days of doubt feel like. I’ve wondered if the Lord sees me and if He knows how heavy the load has become. But I’m here to tell you He does! Praise God, He sees you!

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, and walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:29 through 31

The Bible tells us that God gives power to the weak. He is our Power Source. I like to think of us like a phone. We run and run throughout the day, and slowly our battery begins to lose power. Eventually, we reach that dreaded low battery warning. What do we do? We plug in. We connect the phone to a power source and allow it to receive what it needs.

Mom, sometimes you need to plug in too.

When we spend time in God’s Word, we are reminded of who He is, what He has done, and what He has promised. His Word encourages us, steadies our hearts, and reminds us that we are not walking through our battles alone.

Our God never runs out of power.

He is always full of grace. He is always ready to restore. He knows the race you’re running, He knows the load you’re carrying, and He has plenty of help for you.

Your struggle doesn’t have to be a huge crisis for God to care about it. Maybe it’s the bills. Maybe it’s your child’s behavior. Maybe you’re exhausted from working and then coming home to everything that still needs to be done. He cares about that too. Nothing is too small for your Heavenly Father.

So don’t wait until your battery is completely drained before you turn to Him. Plug in daily. Let Him strengthen you before you try to carry everything in your own strength. Pray when you’re tired. Pray when you’re frustrated. Pray when you don’t know what to do. Pray, pray, and pray some more. He hears you.

And when your strength is running low, remember that you don’t have to be your own power source. You don’t have to carry everything alone. Your Heavenly Father is ready to meet you in your weariness and give you the strength you need for the road ahead.

Plug in, Mom.

Let the Lord give strength to the weary.

With love,
Manasseh
